Hello, my name is Hector Gastelum. I am a first-generation college student on track to graduate in Spring 2026. I was born and raised in San Diego and am the oldest of six siblings. Spanish is my first language, and English is my second.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and spending time with family and friends. I am also passionate about hands-on work, including engine repair, vehicle maintenance, and fitness training. I take particular interest in learning how to perform maintenance and mechanical work on cars and motorcycles.
I have recently begun developing skills in gardening and livestock management. I have learned the fundamentals of planting and maintaining fruit trees, including lemon, avocado, and mandarin trees. Additionally, I have gained foundational knowledge in caring for chickens, including proper feeding practices to promote both the health of the birds and the quality of their eggs.
In the coming months, I plan to expand my knowledge by learning how to raise chicks and further preparing my family’s ranch to support additional livestock, such as goats and potentially sheep.
